Another completely hand-fabricated marvel spawned from the pen of designer Chris Ito is this 1933 Dodge Pickup. Nearly every inch of this classic has been hand formed in-house including the cab, bed, fenders and chassis. The only original vintage sheet metal that was used was the grille shell and the metal surrounding the windshield. The decision was made to hand form all panels from scratch because no original or reproduction body panels available provided an adequate starting point. The task of fabricating all of the major body panels was enormous, and the numerous construction details were many. Before you ask, yes it has a Hemi, a fuel-injected and super-charged 392 Hemi. An electrical operating tonneau cover was made out of aluminum because of weight restraints. The rest of all sheet metal fabrication was done in steel. Headlights are from a 1933 Chrysler and were totally restored and upgraded to 12 volt. The mod-deco tail lights are from a Victory motorcycle. The gauge cluster was originally a stock 1933 Dodge application and was retro fitted with updated gauges and mechanisms with a matching tachometer by Classic Instruments. The wheels with all their “bling” are “one-off” Budnik’s designed by Chris Ito. The interior is of course all leather, and is another example of the craftsmanship of Sid Chavers and company. Even the headliner is a leather insert. The paint is a meticulously color sanded and rubbed out House of Kolor candy purple urethane. This truck has been shown several times and takes awards everywhere it goes. It took “Great 8″ honors at Detroit, “Truck of the Year” finalist with Good-Guys, “Class Winner”, “Best Rod” and “Grand Sweepstakes” at The Portland Roadster Show, and many others.
